On the Advanced options page, scroll down to the Reset section. You will need to perform this on the edition of Minecraft installed on your PC. Note: Here we have shown the steps with Minecraft Launcher. Click on the three-dot menu associated with the Minecraft game and choose Advanced options. On this page, search for Minecraft in the list of applications installed on your PC. Select Installed apps in the displayed search result. Hit the Windows key and type installed apps in the Windows search box. If any updates are available, Windows will prompt you to download and install them. Windows will look for the updates for your PC including the Minecraft game. Here, click on the Check for updates button. Click on Windows update settings in the search result to open the System settings page for Windows Update. Type windows update settings in the search box. Tap on the Windows Start button on your taskbar. If any updates are found for the Minecraft game, Store will automatically download and install them. It will check for the updates available for your Store applications. On the right side, click on the Get updates button. Once Store opens up, select the Library tab at the bottom left of the window.

Type ms-windows-store: and hit Enter to open the Microsoft Store. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog. In case that has not happened, it will check and update the app before you can play the game. Most of the time, it is automatically updated when you open the Minecraft Launcher.

Click on the dropdown list next to the Play button and select the Latest release option. Once the Minecraft Launcher opens, click on the Play tab at the top.
